Uploading a File (with Internet Explorer)
- type ftp://ftp.hugeone.co.uk in the Internet Explorer (in the place where you usually type www address. This requires a username and a password.
- If you cannot see any files or folders when you access the FTP site, or if you get an "HTTP 404 File Cannot Be Found" message from your browser, make sure that your browser has the FTP option enabled. To check for this, go to your 'Start' button and choose 'Settings' then 'Control Panel'. Double-click on 'Internet Options' and choose the 'Advanced' tab at the top of the window. Make sure the box labeled 'Enable folder view for FTP sites' is checked and then click 'OK'.
- When using Internet Explorer, you can perform a "drag-and-drop" to upload a file from your computer. To do this, locate the file which you would like to upload by using 'Windows Explorer' (or by clicking on the 'My Computer' icon on your desktop). Click and hold onto the file that you wish to upload, then drag your cursor into the window that is displaying the FTP site. This will copy the file into the RBF FTP site.
- Another method you can use to upload is to copy and paste your file. To copy the file, right click on the file and choose 'copy' then right click in the body of the FTP site and choose 'paste.' This will copy the file from your hard drive into the FTP site.
